From the 12. to 19. March 2023 A 1-week training camp for the triathlon and cycling team from MAKKABI Germany will take place in Mallorca. Our Maccabees fly to the sunny island to prepare for the coming season. The Balearic Islands are considered a training paradise for cyclists, many athletes use the mild climate in spring for a sporty start to the new season. Good sporting foundations can be laid at an air temperature of around 18°.
The focus of the training camps is on cycling, but several technical units in swimming and running are also included.
The level of the team and the focus of the individual athletes are very different, so the team will be divided into several training groups. The highlight is the Joint bike ride to the well-known lighthouse at "Cap Formentor" with over 111km and 1200hm. Refreshment stops in the cafés along the route were of course a must and made the ascent easier for the “newcomers”.
We are always happy to see many new faces - even without competition experience. What is important is an interest in cycling, in Jewish sports in Germany and the willingness for continuous training - because the training camp is a fantastic experience for our national team on the way to the Maccabiah in Israel.
